From Dukes To Dudes

Please allow me to introduce myself.....

No, I'm not asking for any sympathy from the Devil. i'm just here to say hello.

I love to write. always have, ever since I was  a little girl. When I finally decided two years to put fingers to keyboard (that really doesn't sound as good as pen to paper, does it?) my head was full of Regency romance.

You know what I'm talking about. Dukes, Earls and Countesses, drifting along in ballrooms to waltzes or taking carriage rides in the park. Men in tight breeches and women in sumptuous ballgowns make for dreamy reading and even better writing.

No matter what you read, you have to admit that's pretty hot....

I dont even remember how it started though, but I picked up a Male/Male romance and became intrigued, not because the books were so different that what I was used to, but because the romance was so similar.

And so I read and read and read. And fell in love with the genre.

I switched from Dukes to Dudes.

While walking home from work one evening, a storyline burst into my head and I had to get home and write out the first chapter of what turned out to be my first M/M romance entitled, "A Rescued Heart."
I feel no disloyalty or sadness in writing in another genre. i've heard so many wonderful authors speak and they always say, "Write what you know."

They also say "Write what you love."

And so I did. I wrote about love and the power of friendship and family.

And it has a subject very dear to my heart-Rescue Dogs.

I'm hoping someone will love it enough to want to publish it, but I wrote it because I wanted to read the story.
